The shiny variant limit of only 38 pieces makes this set feel genuinely special to own. I’m really glad I grabbed the Squirtle Squad edition before the pre-order window closed, and the detailed P1/20 scale sculpting is exactly what I wanted for my collection.

The wait until September is going to feel long, but locking in that 1/20 scale Squirtle Squad is worth it since it's a time-limited run. The fact that the original is capped at 168 pieces total makes me feel like I actually secured something special for the collection.

The limited edition numbers are nice for collectors, but the scale feels a bit smaller than I expected for the price. The shipping estimate is pretty far out, which takes some of the excitement away. It's a decent set overall, just not a home run for me.
